Advocates of Drinking Responsibly
IWBDA members are comitted to being "part of the solution" in the prevention of Advocates of Drinking Responsibly Beer distributors and brewers are absolutely committed to reducing drunk driving, illegal underage drinking and alcohol abuse. They are deeply involved in the communities in which they live and do business. The industry has spent over $200 million over the last 10 years to fund research, public safety, and education and prevention campaigns to curb alcohol abuse.

Educate Youth on Underage and Illegal Drinking:
- Distributed “WE ID” point-of-sale to 160 accounts in our territory.
- Distributed Letters to the Editors to 14 newspapers in our territory inviting the public to ask for free “Family Talk” booklets.
- Distributed letters to 19 high schools and 16 middle schools in our territory inviting them to ask for free “Family Talk” booklets for parents of their students.
Promote the Responsible Consumption of Our Product:
- Supplied approximately 400 Community Awareness & Education items for promotions and other community events.
- Supplied approximately 35,000 wristbands to events in our territory.
Retailer/Server Training:
- Supplied 25 accounts in our territory with 40 ID booklets to aid in identifying false ID’s.
Partner with Law Enforcement:
- Supplied 10 police and county sheriff’s departments with 61 ID booklets to aid in identifying false ID’s.
- Roger Brown met with the Fort Dodge Police Department Chief, Webster County Sheriff and Iowa Highway Patrol Captain to discuss alcohol issues in Fort Dodge. We provided them assistance to fight underage drinking with printed material and support.
- Humes Distributing, Inc. has spent $7,055 on Consumer Education and Underage Drinking in the first 10 months of 2010.
- Brought in Sarah Panzau to give her "Living Proof" speech about what happens when you make a bad decision. She talked to the Phillips Middle School and Iowa Central Community College students.
